Ixelles, a historical and architectural jewel

Saturday 5 May
Ixelles

This tour invites you to discover Ixelles from one of its lesser-known angles, focusing on its Art Nouveau and beautiful ponds. Ixelles' industrial past is considerably richer than it might appear, featuring such invaluable architectural heritage as the Cité Volta. Your cultural guide will reveal the keys to appreciating the various styles used in this 1920s architectural complex by Joseph Caluwaers. This guided tour is a great opportunity to take in the magnificent Neo-Classical façades of the district's mansions and grand houses. And since a pleasant stroll speaks louder than a thousand words, we invite all lovers of history and of the Ixelles area to become immersed in the truly unique experience of discovering the district as a way of life through its past.
